Party Poker keeps up with the internet trends

The Facebook fever seems to have gotten us all over the past few years, with the well known social network being a part of everything that matters nowadays. Several large online poker rooms have tried to keep up with the trend and opened fan pages on Facebook, but Party Poker is the first to take this one step further: it is organizing, for the first time ever, a tournament dedicated especially for its Facebook fans.

This tournament will start on Monday, the 12th of July 2010. It’s a freeroll, so singing up for this tournament will not cost you anything. But, as its name is ‘Facebook Freeroll’, you can figure out the one rule that you must follow in order to participate in this event: be a fan of Party Poker’s fan page on Facebook. For this, log on to your Facebook account, find Party Poker’s page and click the ‘Like’ button. After you successfully do this, you will be sent a code with which you can register in the tournament.

The tournament is worth $500, so it’s pretty substantial for a freeroll. And, what’s more, Party Poker have announced that this will certainly not be their only tournament of this kind – it is only their first, with many more to come. So if you’re not a fan yet and you won’t be able to qualify for this particular tournament, there’s hope for you yet.
